The Physio Social Club is excited to host its next event, "A Beginner's Guide To Physio," designed especially for new and recent Physio graduates. This event will feature a panel discussion with guest speakers who will share their experiences and insights into the field, offering valuable guidance to attendees who are just starting out in their careers.
The panel discussion will cover various topics, including the most important steps that have helped shape the careers of the guest speakers, and practical tips for navigating the challenges of the profession. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion, making this event an excellent opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals and network with peers.
Our panelists for this event are Natasha Sneddon, a Sports Performance Physio and an AFLW Rehab Physio at Carlton FC, Kelvin Leung, Physiotherapists and business owner, Kit Wisdom, Physiotherapist with a Masters in Wellbeing Science and currently training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy and Michael McCloskey, Physiotherapist and Director at Physiosports Brighton. The session will be hosted by John Contreras, Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, Strength and Pilates Coach.

Our Guest Speakers:
Natasha Sneddon
Natasha Sneddon is a Sports Performance Physiotherapist at Melbourne Fitness Performance, AFLW Rehab Physiotherapist at Carlton Football Club and is currently completing her Masters of Sports Physiotherapy at Latrobe University. Natasha has also previously held positions at Western Bulldogs, Pursue Health / Physiosports Brighton and was Physiotherapist for the Australian Team at the 2022 Maccabiah Games.
Natasha is passionate about supporting elite and recreational athletes through all aspects of their training and physical well being. Being an ex Australian Gymnast and current runner herself, she understands the demands of training and competition on the human body and mind. As a result she has worked towards building a career that enables her to work within this high performance environment.
Kelvin Leung
Kelvin qualified as a physio in 2013 and spent most years living between Hong Kong, Perth, London and Melbourne working in private practice, community health and professional sport. In 2018, Kelvin moved to the UK to broaden his horizons, and ended up being part of the Academy Physiotherapy Team at Chelsea Football Club. He recently started his own clinic in Kew, Sterling Physiotherapy.
Kelvin is excited about the direction that our healthcare is headed and hopes to effect change in the way we inspire individuals and communities to recover, participate, and get better. He also places a huge focus on establishing trust and honest communication, as they are the most important factors in his clinical approach.
Kit Wisdom
Kit is a Physiotherapist with a Masters in Wellbeing Science and currently training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy. She has a keen interest in interpersonal neuroscience and its role in pain and healthcare, in particular, the relationship between the practitioner and the client and the emergent intersubjective space.
Kit advocates for the visibility and exploration of the practitioner’s subjectivity, as part of the intersubjective space and see it as an unearthed pathway to providing care that humanises and nourishes both the practitioner and the client.
Michael McCloskey
Michael is a highly accomplished Physiotherapist, currently serving as the Director at Physiosports Brighton. With over 20 years of experience working both in Australia and in the UK, Michael possesses extensive expertise in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy having previously worked at Tottenham Hotspurs FC. He is currently team physiotherapist for Old Brighton Grammarians in the VAFA.
As the Director at Physiosports Brighton, Michael plays a pivotal role in leading a team of skilled professionals and driving the clinic's mission of providing exceptional physiotherapy services. He fosters a collaborative and patient-centered environment, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care tailored to their specific needs and goals.
John Contreras
John is an APA Sports & Exercises Physiotherapist, Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Pilates Instructor and Educator with over 21 years of experience working in Melbourne and London. In addition to his Physiotherapy qualifications, John also holds a Master of Exercise Science (Strength & Conditioning) from Edith Cowan University.
Alongside his clinic work, John also runs various exercise therapy workshops to health and fitness professionals, mentors younger clinicians, and is founder of The Physio Social Club.
