Are you a practicing health or fitness professional who wants to continue to improve your skills and knowledge? Or maybe you're a student or new graduate looking for guidance on how to navigate your career? Join us for an insightful panel discussion on the power of mentorship in the field of healthcare and exercise therapy.
Our panelists for this event are Melissa Williams, an Integrative Physiotherapist and co-owner of Zebras Australia, and Paul Visentini, a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist and director at Physiosports Brighton, and Luke Poon, Physiotherapist, Business Owner & Performance Coach.
Melissa, Paul and Luke bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, and will share their insights on how mentorship has shaped their careers and how they assist other professionals develop theirs.
During the panel discussion, you'll hear about the benefits of mentorship, of having a mentor, how to find the right mentor for you, and how to make the most out of your mentorship relationship. We'll also discuss the challenges of mentorship within our working lives. You'll also have the opportunity to ask Melissa and Paul your questions about mentorship in physiotherapy.
You'll then have the opportunity to meet and discuss with the other health and fitness professionals in the room your experience of mentorship over a bite to eat and a drink.

Our Guest Speakers:
Melissa Williams
Mel is an integrative physiotherapist and a co-owner of Zebras Australia.
Originally from the West, Mel has happily called Naarm her home for the last eight years. Mel has been practicing for almost twelve years and as a naturally curious person holds a number of post-graduate qualifications across a variety of health-related areas.
Mel is deeply interested in … her work at the intersection of the hypermobility spectrum, anxiety disorders and trauma.
Mel is passionate about … all things movement and embodiment, and her unique style is informed by physiotherapy, Pilates, Feldenkrais and tantric hatha yoga.
Paul Visentini
Paul Visentini is a Sports Specialist Physiotherapist and renowned figure within the sports physiotherapy community having worked with a wide range of elite athletes, including AFL footballers, Olympians, and professional cyclists, among others.
He is the founder and director of Physiosports Brighton and Pursue Health. In addition to his clinical work he also is Chair of the Course Advisory Committee for Physiotherapy (postgraduate Musculoskeletal and Sports and Exercise programs) at Latrobe University and director of The Science of Cycling Physio Bikefit courses that run internationally.
Paul is also actively involved in research and education, having published numerous articles and book chapters on sports physiotherapy. He is a sought-after speaker and presenter, regularly delivering workshops and presentations at conferences and seminars both locally and internationally.
Overall, Paul is widely respected for his expertise in sports physiotherapy and his commitment to advancing the field through his clinical work, research, and education.
Luke Poon
Luke's journey has seen him play many characters thus far - practicing physiotherapist, healthcare and hospitality business owner, passionate football coach, community philanthropist, and more recently a performance coach.
His lived experiences have provided him a firm belief that mentorship can be found, determined, inspired, and created from anywhere - how to use it effectively is the hard part.
