"So, You're Going to Become a Physio" offers a candid look into the world of physiotherapy, featuring a panel discussion with experienced physios working across different environments—private practice, hospitals, and sports.
Our guest Physio speakers: Michael Kenihan, Tessa Rafaniello and Eran Gerstein.

Our Speakers:
Michael Kenihan
Michael is a sports physiotherapist, business manager, adminstrator, entrepreneur, innovator, teacher and thought leader in the health and sport sectors. Michael published his book “The Heath Practitioner’s Journey” in 2023, a four stage career plan that takes a health practitioner from graduation through to financial and personal success. Michael is also a business consultant to allied health practitioners and practices through his business MK Health Business Consulting.
Tess Rafaniello
Tess is a paediatric physiotherapist at Monash Children’s Hospital, holding a clinical interest in the care of children with neurological conditions. After graduating with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Melbourne University in 2018, Tess spent 18 months in adult care before transitioning to paediatrics in 2020. Over her time at Monash she has worked across acute care, rehabilitation and community settings as well as completing a graduate certificate in paediatric Physiotherapy in 2021. Tess has significant experience in the realities and challenges of commencing, navigating and succeeding in a public health physiotherapy career. Outside of work Tess is an avid traveller and runs a travel blog with her husband.
Eran Gerstein
Eran is a physiotherapist who has been working for 5 years now after graduating from the University of Melbourne. Previously he had graduated from McGill University in Canada, and was working as a PE teacher. While a student, he played rugby, American football, competed in powerlifting competitions on national scale, and ran athletics as a sprinter. Eran has worked across a multitude of sports, including with the Melbourne Rebels leading their Academy program as well as working with multiple NPL soccer teams including Bentleigh Greens, Dandenong Thunder FC, and Avondale FC, and with national level programs. Eran hopes to further his career into the professional sporting world and be part of national level teams in the not so distant future.
